Ansonsten tiptop!

Renting a car from this Hertz location was one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had. I rented a car in the second week of September. The check-in process was smooth, but it was raining, and the black car was parked outside. I took some pictures of the car to document the existing scratches, but I wasn’t informed that I needed to upload those pictures to their system. Which was their fault 100%.
Three days later, when I returned the car, no one inspected it in my presence, which is standard protocol in North America. I then left for Canada. The next day, I received an email from their “DamageControl” team stating they found new scratches (which were tiny) and attached pictures. According to the email, money would be taken from my credit card. I checked my pictures, but due to the rain, they weren’t clear. However, I could see the scratches they mentioned, and they somewhat matched the ones in my initial photos.
The first photo was taken by me on the day I rented the car. The second photo was sent by Hertz. 🙂
I had purchased full insurance from Expedia NOT from Hertz, so I wasn’t overly concerned, although I knew I had driven the car safely and couldn’t have caused those scratches. I emailed Hertz's DamageControl on the 16th and again on the 18th of September, requesting the final bill , so I can submit it to my insurance provider. However, Hertz didn’t even bother to reply. It is decency to reply someone's email. I am still waiting for the final repair bill.
In my opinion, they are the most unprofessional car rental agency I’ve ever dealt with. If you’re a tourist and don’t plan to buy insurance from them, it would be unwise to rent a car from Hertz. I am highly dissatisfied with their services.

When I spoke with the agent during the rental process I declined all insurance. I proceeded with the usual rapid initialing and signing of various boxes on the tablet, was told the agreement would be emailed to me (no printed copy) and headed on my way. 3 days after the vehicle was returned I received a copy of the final receipt. Yup, you guessed it - insurance had been charged. My fault I guess for not being more diligent. Beware.

We had a great experience. We were upgraded to a larger vehicle via the garage pick-up that was not going to be far too large for our plans. We called the customer service number and they quickly helped us get in touch with this office to get a smaller vehicle. A quick 10 minute trip to the in-person office and a short wait to accommodate us is all it took and we were on our way. They were very quick and kind.

In all the years I’ve rented a car worldwide, the service from Hertz at Bergen Norway Airport was by far the worst.
I ordered the car for 09:00 a.m., but had to wait in line at the counter for more than 90 minutes before I was finally served. There were only 4 people ahead of me in the queue. Only one counter was occupied and the employee had to rummage through the key box four times until she finally found the right order.
The car was parked in a publicly accessible parking garage and no staff were present. I dropped the car off at the same place in the evening on the same day. There was no staff present again. After 39 hours I receive a damage report that the Hertz staff found a scratch on the car.
I tried to settle the matter in a professional manner with Hertz, but the only answer I received is that according to the contract I have to pay for the damage.
I had to pay NOK 13’504.- for damage that I did not cause.
As a result, I will no longer rent cars from Hertz in the future.

Had a seamless and easy experience here, despite the reviews. They had an agent office onsite, so maybe that’s new compared to what others experienced with a self-service kiosk. Car pick up was simple and while the car only had 50% battery, it’s plenty to get us where we needed.
